Cooper's Peg Leg

Things have continued to be busy in the Cooper household. Mom has been working a lot during the day, so Grandma has been spending quite a bit of time with Cooper during the day. He seems to be enjoying himself, and gets quite excited when someone comes back home to see him. In fact, on Wednesday he got soooo excited that he jumped on his hind legs to greet Auntie and toppled backwards and hurt his leg. At first Mom thought it was just a bit sore, but as of Sunday, he still is limping a bit. Oh no! Cooper is quite clumsy but Mom isn't sure what to think. It sure isn't slowing him down much, he has continued to run around and play with Edie, steal shoes from the prospective hiding places, etc. Everyone has been trying to keep him laying low by keeping him in his kennel or snuggling. If this doesn't start showing signs of healing it's off to the vet we go!
Other spottings of Cooper's clumsiness include the latest thing Mommy discovered Cooper doing. She walked upstairs to find Cooper must have been playing with Edie's Circular Nylabone.

Now Mommy is NOT saying these are bad toys...but this particular one may not be suitable for Cooper:

It's wrapped/stuck around his ENTIRE HEAD!!! EEeeek

Even though Cooper is very clumsy, he has been studying a lot with Grandma. Grandma likes to think of herself as the household "Dog Whisperer" and although everyone else finds that a biiiit excessive, Cooper can almost always consistently (if given a treat of course) Sit, Lay, and Shake! Wooo Hoo! Check it out:

Mom also wants to make sure that she added all of the new friends that have been commenting Cooper...She THINKS she got them all, but if not, it was an accident!! Until the next pee puddle arrives...

Busy,busy,busy

Apologies are in order for the lack of current postings. Mom has actually been working quite a bit, and after a day of wiiiiild Kindergartners, the last thing she can post about is Coop's crazy ways. Cooper has been doing muuuuuuuch better with his potty skills. Today he only had ONE puddle, and it was probably Mommies fault for not noticing him eagerly waiting by the gate (oops). He slept with Mom 3 nights in a row this week, and she is putting a stop to it! As cute and cuddly as he is, he has to respect the usage of his kennel.

In other news... Mom and Grandma are entering Cooper and Edie into "Pet Idol" in the local newspaper. They should win of course, but we'll keep you updated :)

Everybody LOVES a Puggle Snuggle!

Cooper is the most spoiled dog we know! Lately Mommy has been letting Cooper snuggle with her in her bed at night. She has been "forgetting" to put him in his kennel when she is finished doing her nightly reading and just falling asleep with the Coopster next to her. Then Mom usually puts him in his kennel when he gets hyper early in the morning, so he can relax until breakfast time. Today Mom went in the kitchen and Cooper and Edie were snuggled up like this:

Mommy realized that Coop is a Snuggle Player!! He will take snuggles from anyone he can get. He loves to be loved on, so everyone has termed this phrase "Puggle Snuggle". Oh Cooper!

In other news....today Cooper peed on Grandma's bed while hanging out. Oopsie!!

Apparently, NOT to potty.

Bah! Coop really is giving everyone some serious anxiety...They never know when they may be about to gently press their delicate toes into a nice, sticky, luke-warm puddle of puppy pee. Everyone has been working hard to motivate and inspire Coop to do his "duty" appropriately, but this is hard work!

Coop is very easily distracted when he is taken outside to potty. He is very particular about his mission to "Sniff for the perfect potty place". The slightest hint of a faint dog barking, leaf rustling, or someone sneezing in their bathroom three doors down the street... and he has to start the WHOLE process over. Now, Mommy understands this a little bit. She is a high-maintenance woman... but she believes in a no-fuss potty policy. Maybe Daddy should talk to Coop. He takes FOREVER to do these things! She is often amazed at how long Daddy takes to do things such as potty or shower. Hmmmmm if anyone has any tips, fill us in!

Until the next pee puddle arrives.

To Potty or Not to Potty

Oh Dear. Mom has gone back to work today and Cooper is having a backlash! She only worked today from 8:00-3:45 but Cooper is acting out. Already during that time he had 4 pee puddles and 3 poos... INSIDE! Eek!?! Grandma and Uncle Steve watched Coop today but he just wasn't used to the regular schedule. He has to start being a little more responsible because Mom has to go to work to earn the dollar dollar bills ya'll. Hopefully he will adjust, but if not, him and Mom may have to have a heart-to heart.

Party Time...EXCELLENT!!

Yesterday was such a very exciting day for Cooper! Earlier this week was Grandma's 50th Birthday, but yesterday was the actual party. Cooper loves to be the star at these events, so Mom and Grandma made him a special little "outfit". Boy oh boy, Dad is going to be reaaaaaaal irritated, but it sure is funny!

Here are some pics of Cooper in his celebratory cape:

It was simply great. Everyone stopped to look at Coop, and it only reminded them of how old Grandma is... but youthful as ever, of course! Edie also wore a cape, but it wasn't quuuite as snazzy. They both looked like some doggie hotties. In other news, Mom was also a little distracted today, as the party was going on, and her favorite football team was playing. She is happy to say that the best Pac-10 Team of all time, Washington State Cougars WON today 45-17 against San Diego State... she is such a proud alumni!

The final bit of excitement to make the weekend more than complete, was Coopie's Aunt Natasha came down from Bellingham for a visit. She bought him a stylin' new outfit so he will be suuuch a chick magnet after he gets all his shots and Mom lets him roam free with other dogs.

He is dressed like Dad when Dad goes off to see his patients! Hehehe

There was so much excitement and so many new people at the party that Coop is simply exhausted. Time for some R&R:

Until next time...

Birthday Time at Cooper's House!

Well Coop has been having a much better day today. He woke up this morning and went potty OUTSIDE before coming in to play. He is a bit confused because it is Grandma's 50th Birthday today and the phone has been ringing NON-stop. Usually he is the only one awake at 7 AM!
The actual party isn't until Saturday though, so there is still excitement to come!

Later, Coop's roomie Edie rolled in something that smelled quite disgusting, so Coop and Edie required a bath. Getting wet is definitely one of his least favorite activities, but Grandpa gave him a bath and now he smells nice and fresh!

After both Edie and Cooper were cleaned up, Edie decided to go out for one more round, and ended up looking like this:

That makes TWO bath's for Edie. Needless to say, nobody is very amused at this point!

Cooper has really been spending some time relaxing today because he is just plain worn out! The past week Coop has gotten to go on a lot of travels all around the Northwest. His first stop was Multnomah Falls:

Mommy and him thought this was pretty fun, and of course, Daddy took the pictures. That same day Coop got to meet Dad's family. They also have three dogs, so Coop was reaaaaaaaal excited to hang out. That was, until everyone got a hold of him and began to dress him up. Mommy thought this was HYSTERICAL, but Dad just thought it was belittling to his manhood.

Either way, everyone kept doing it!
The last bit of excitement on his trip was his first camping trip and to the Oregon Coast! Dad's friends had a fun cabin in Walla Walla so they took a quick night trip to check it out. This was great fun until Mom told Dad to watch Cooper on the sleeping bags and Dad didn't. Guess what happened? Cooper decided to drench Mom and Dad's sleeping bags with pee. Thankfully they had an extra to sleep on! The Oregon Coast also held some grand adventures. Cooper had never been to the beach before and the ocean was quite the experience! Coop was pretty much a wimp at the beach and always followed Mom and Dad around and sat at their feet in hopes that he would be picked up and carried.

Aside from all the craziness, Cooper has been kinda sad lately. Dad just left for the airport and Cooper has been pretty depressed. This is their goodbye photo until they see each other again in December :(

Not the most flattering photo of Daddy, but it captures their agony!
